Guy Fawkes “Bonfire Night”

November 11th, Saturday 4.00 pm
November 11th, Saturday 4.00 pm Venue: Vilnius Grand Resort   Guy Fawkes (Bonfire) Night is a traditional event widely celebrated in the UK for about 400 years already. Its history goes back to 1605 when a group of Catholic conspirators, including Guy Fawkes, were attempting to blow up the Houses of Parliament, in London. The event is accompanied by firework displays, the lighting of bonfires and the ceremonial effigy-burning of one Guy Fawkes. The 9th Guy Fawkes Night in Vilnius will be held with a bonfire, the Guy, mulled wine, hot food and hot chocolate to keep everyone warm throughout the evening. Please be re-ensured that you will not be requested to spend 2 hours outside due to these rather unexpected winter weather conditions. The event will have a solid roof this year where hot buffet meal and drinks will be served and performance by medieval juggler will be happening on the stage also inside, not outside. However, the Bonfire with the Guy effigy will be enjoyed outside as appropriate, as we always felt that this is the most enjoyed part of the event. Marshmallows and sparkles for the kids are ready, so hopefully everybody will have fun. As every year, the children will be able to enjoy the sparkles and marshmallows!   Agenda:   4.00 p.m. –  Gathering near Bonfire outside on the green field in front of the lake. Mulled wine, hot chocolate for children served outside; Lightening of the bonfire. 4.30 p.m. –  All are invited inside to enjoy hot food buffet including soups, traditional shepherd’s pie, chocolate pancakes for the children and more. 5.00 p.m. -   Stage performance inside of a medieval Juggler. 5.20 p.m. –  Marshmallows, sparkles for the children. 5.40 p.m. -   Coffee & Cake served inside. 6.00 p.m. –  Fabulous Fireworks are on display outside. End.
